Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced into strips
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Cooked egg noodles or mashed potatoes (for serving)
Instructions
- 🔥 Sear beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Cook beef strips for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- 🧅 Sauté aromatics: Lower heat, add butter, then sauté onion and garlic until soft and fragrant.
- 🍄 Cook mushrooms: Add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned and reduced.
- 🌶️ Season and thicken: Stir in paprika and flour. Mix well for 1 minute to cook out the flour.
- 🥣 Add liquids: Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring. Add Worcestershire sauce and bring to a simmer.
- 🥄 Finish sauce: Reduce heat to low. Stir in sour cream. Return beef to pan and cook for 5 more minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- 🍽️ Serve and enjoy: Spoon over egg noodles or mashed potatoes. Garnish with chopped parsley.
